Description

One line

A roguelike deckbuilder built out of a slot machine.

Short

Rig the machine until it pays out wrong. Draw symbols from your bag across five reels, chain paylines, and slot circuit-board artifacts into combos the house never accounted for. A roguelike deckbuilder about the arithmetic of very bad odds.

Long

You have 4 spins, a bag of symbols, and a cabinet full of empty slots. Everything else is arithmetic — and the arithmetic can be broken.

5 reels, 3 rows, 15 cells. Lines pay, columns pay, diagonals pay, and five of a kind pays absurdly. Every artifact you slot into the cabinet changes what a line is worth, and artifacts fire left to right — so where a card sits in the rack is part of the build. A run opens needing 235 chips and ends needing 19,500.

Between payouts you shop: 22 symbols and 65 artifacts to draw from, plus vouchers, consumables, enhancements and seals. 11 bosses each break a specific assumption you have been leaning on, and 3 nudges a payout — mark the cells you hate, redraw only those, keep the rest — are usually the whole difference. Clear it and there are 5 machines, 3 challenge runs and 8 stakes waiting.

Key points

  • A familiar object behaving wrong — everyone already knows what a reel is, so the game spends none of its opening on explaining itself.
  • Artifact order matters. The rack is read left to right, which turns a collection into a sequencing puzzle.
  • Nudges make it a puzzle rather than a pull-the-lever. Three per payout, and you choose what to keep.
  • 32-colour pixel art through a CRT shader, on a strict shared palette.
  • Single-player, playable offline, no account to create, no monetisation of any kind. Runs are fully deterministic from their seed, so any run can be replayed exactly.

Assets

The logotype is available now. Screenshots, GIFs and the announcement trailer are in production and will be posted here the day the Steam page goes live — if you are working to a deadline before then, email and they will be sent to you directly.

Monetisation permission

You may record, stream and monetise Laurus footage, including on YouTube, Twitch and any equivalent platform. No permission request needed and no revenue share is claimed. That covers the whole game, before and after release.
